Artalana

The Artalana Collection was inspired during a trip to Istanbul, Turkey, and captures the beauty and majesty of the horses of the Ottoman Empire. Salama drew her inspiration from the ornate grills of the Topkapi Palace, the primary residence of the sultans of the Ottoman Empire for 400 years, where everything came to life for the designer. She wanted to combine the architecture at the palace, the engraving on the walls, the Arabic calligraphy above the ornate doors and the horse bridles and horsetack of another era. The result was a collection of antique-style jewelry with each piece of the collection taking the form of stunning motifs that allude to the majesty of Arabian horses while the burnished gold together with the precious ruby and diamond stones bring a distinct Ottoman feel.
